Springfield Armory XD - Service 165 grain @ 1150ftps = 485ftlbs
The XD started its life as the HS-2000, a Croatian manufactured pistol. Springfield Armory began importing it and rebranded it the XD. The "Xtreme Duty" is pistol that is very similar to a glock in that the body of the gun is made of a polymer. The reasons that I believe this pistol is far superior to the glock is the fact of the safety found in the rear of the grip, the loaded chamber indicator, and most of all the 1911 angle / ergonomics. Having the 1911 posture creates a very natural pointing gun compared to the glock. Both are fine pieces, but I choose to use the XD as my concealed carry weapon. It is a .40 caliber that holds 12+1. Shooting is very smooth, and accurate. I currently have about 3,500 rounds through this gun without any notable hiccups. See a more in depth history of the XD here.
