This M1 Garand is considered to be a "six digit" rifle as the serial number is in the xxx,xxx range. There were over 6 million Garands made from 1936 to 1957. It was delivered to the US military sometime between June and July 1942. The rifles ammo is a 7.62x63 (.30.06) or otherwise know as m2 ball. It is a semi-automatic rifle that has a fixed box magazine. Ammo is inserted into the rifle via a 8 round clip.
