Smith & Wesson M&P - Compact 165 grain @ 1150ftps = 485ftlbs
This is the Smith & Wesson M&P compact 40. I started my quest for a smaller carry gun as most do, a Glock. 4-5 years of carrying a full sized XD was wearing on me. I was looking at the Glock 27. What I did not prefer in the Glock (non 1911 grip angle, non fully supported chamber) was solved by the M&P. The M&P is just a hair larger than a G27, but it has 1911 grip angle, stainless steel slide, metal (not plastic) Novak sights, more fully supported chamber, a viable Crimson Trace laser system utilizing the removable back strap. The Crimson Trace systems for XD and Glock can only be explained as barbaric. I have a feeling the XD will be protecting the safe more than myself in the very future. See a more in depth history of the M&P here.
