SOLD 1947 Swiss Karabiner Model 31 174 grain @ 2640ftps = 2693ftlbs
The Swiss Schmidt-Rubin K31 was adopted in 1933 and stayed in service until 1958. A very unique feature of this rifle is the straight pull back, rotating bolt. This was done to keep the gun on target while reloading, and also it was unlike a turn up bolt, that would expose more of you to the enemy. This rife was 1 of 20,950 made in 1947. The magazine holds 6 rounds and the rifle 8.9 lbs. This rifle is considered to be very accurate and of very high quality. The Swiss didn't have a military per se, but all able bodied men were required to have a rifle and to qualify. The rifle has a chrome lined bore and were issued with a dust cap, as they spent most of their lives tucked away in a closet. I was lucky enough to have the owner place his name and info under the butt plate. See a more in depth history of the K31 here.
