1995 Land Rover Range Rover Classic LWB
This page will be used to document "Project Soft Dash".
I purchased this vehicle in April 2008 with 118k miles. It was originally purchased as a 2.5 year lease for a electrical company in Ohio. Then bought 11 years ago from the guy I bought it off of. A big "Thank you" to my wife for her patience and putting up with me on this project.
Here is a picture from when I first picked it up / how it looks now.. tint removed(not fun) brush guard and lower spoiler removed

Both front floorboard were rusted and had holes. I grinded them out / rust converted /prime / fibreglassed / painted.. need to lay another coat of paint.

The rear was like the front.. Rusted.. I grinded / rust converted / prime / fibreglassed / painted.. need to lay another coat of paint.

Near the tailgate I had more rust. I cut the piece out.. now I'm waiting to weld in a piece of angle iron.

The rear fender were rusted out where the rear seatbelt mounts. I knocked them out and sandwiched the fender with 1/8" and drilled some holes. Trying to decided now whether to use bolts or rosebud weld.

The rear fender threshold was rusted.. grinded it down / rust converted / primed / painted. End up removing the plastic sill guards and doing the same all the way up to the front wheel wells. Going to remount the plastic sills with rivnuts to make removal easier.

Rear 1/4 panels were rusted. grinded it down / rust converted / primed / painted

Gave the underneath a good cleaning.. Probably this winter I'll go and wire wheel and paint the axles and stuff.

Cleaned the breather (flame trap), tons of junk in there. End up giving it a new coat of high temp paint. My T fitting was also blocked with junk

removed the windshield washer tank (hint use a 3in ext for the rear driver bolt and 6in ext for the rear passenger bolt) to get at a firewall leak. Pulled the rear bumper off to tackle and paint the rear 1/4's as they were rusted.. ended up clean and rust converting the rear bumper support and hitch.

The interior was prepped and painted. now I got the inteior back in

I'll be done one day. End of August I hope to finish. I have plugs/wires/dist cap/dist rotor/oil/oil filter/fuel filter/air filter/coolant/ps fluid/diff oil/trans fluid/borg fluid/swivel balls grease.. sitting here waiting
Hope this winter to put a 2in lift on and run some 235/85 retread mudders.
