This is the Remington 700 SPS Varmint. Starting production in 1962, the 700 action has become the most popular sharpshooter rifle among police and military. According to Remington, around 90% of the police sharpshooter rifles in the US are based on model 700's. The Army(M24) and Marines(M40) are also based upon the 700.
